Jackie Saunders

It is with great sadness that we learnt today (Thursday 12/3) of the sad passing of our Churchwarden - Jackie Saunders. She had been bravely living with a serious illness for several years, although many who came into contact with her may not have been aware. She was so much more than the Churchwarden, having been a member of the Boxley church community for all of her life, whether that be as a young lady in the choir, or as the person who got things done, either socially or ecclesiastically, especially during the interregnums that the Pilgrims Way community has experienced over the last 15 years. Not satisfied with that she used her talents to become an Anna chaplain, visiting those in need of a friendly, caring spiritual comfort. All of this was done with grace, humility and no thought for personal gain and with a beaming smile. We are all the better for having known her. Our thoughts and prayers go to her sister and brother, who have supported and cared for her.

Her funeral will take place on Tuesday 28/4 at Boxley Church at 11am.

Churchyard Working Party - these usually take place on the 2nd Saturday of each month, starting at 10am. For more information please contact Mo Parkes: 01622 673411 This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Easter Monday 6/4 from 10am to 12:30am Easter fun at Boxley Church. Easter Egg Hunt, Teddy Bear Zip Wire and other fun things to do plus refreshments . And it is all indoors so regardless of the weather you can join in the fun.

Thursday 16/4 and 30/4: Coffee Socials at the Fox & Goose, Weavering Street: Thursday at 10:30am.

Saturday 2/5: Quiz Night at Weavering Village Hall (behind the Fox & Goose Public House).

7pm for 7:30pm start. Tickets £5 per head. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles. All proceeds go to the Church.

Sunday 17/5: 3pm at Boxley Church the UK Paper Band will be performing Music from Stage and Screen. Entry is free with a retiring collection.
