Sunday 16th of January will see services restart at St. John's Grove Green.

We are really excited to be re-starting worship at St John's from Sunday, 16th January, 2022. Services will be at 3pm, and will specifically be informal, interactive, community building and suitable for all ages (however, you do not need children to attend!). We'd love to see you there! Do get in touch if you have any questions by contacting the Reverend Rob Tugwell (01622 630598), or our Missioner, Graham Bibby (01622 632411).

10/12/21 - Covid Update from the Reverend Rob Tugwell

With the spread of the omicron variant, guidelines for churches have had to change a little. However, the good news is that we are currently a long, long way away from the situation last winter. Churches are still open, worshipping together can still go ahead and (in the background) the immunisation and booster programme is working to good effect.

I would imagine that, like me, you are very keen to have something of a ‘normal’ Christmas this year. Worshipping together is a fundamental part of this. Welcoming people from outside the normal church community is also a really special thing about the Christmas season. As things stand, this will still all go ahead. However, there have been a few changes which I will list below-

Masks now need to be worn in church. Whilst they are permitted to be removed for singing, I would suggest, if possible, masks are kept on when we sing (unless you are in the choir).

Communion will be wafers only. Sharing a common cup brings an obvious risk and so should be paused for the time being.

Refreshments can still be enjoyed, however, once drinks are finished, please put your masks back on. If the weather is not too wet/cold, consider having your drink just outside the church. When services are quieter, let’s ensure we make the most of the opportunity to spread out within the church.

Hand gel will be available, so do try to use it when you enter/exit church.

Thank you for your understanding in taking on these changes. If you have any questions, please do get in touch. Please do pray for the situation and those in leadership, having to make difficult decisions.

I am really excited to celebrate Christmas and these relatively small changes will not quench the fire!

God bless,
